I'M JOANNA TELACKA
I have been passionately teaching Classical Pilates since 1999. My comprehensive Pilates training and Master Program diploma were earned at The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado, under the guidance of Amy Taylor Alpers and Rachel Taylor Siegel. The Taylor sisters studied directly with Romana Kryzanowska, the protégé of Joseph Pilates, making me a proud 3rd generation teacher. I earned my designation as a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher in 2008.
Together with my husband, Wojciech Telacki, who is both a Classical Pilates Teacher and a licensed Physical Therapist, we founded Harmonious Pilates, Inc. Our studio and teacher training facility has been serving both the general public and Pilates professionals for 25 years.
Since 2003, I have been creating and teaching continuing education workshops for Pilates Teachers and Physical Therapists. My work includes writing trainees’ manuals and conducting a research project on utilizing Pilates in post-surgery rehabilitation.
I was drawn to the Pilates method for its uniqueness and the healing effects it had on my own body. My professional journey is fueled by a passion for the method and a desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives through the thoughtful practice of Pilates. I practice the Classical Pilates method with the same focus and precision that I teach to my clients and students. This practice helps me maintain a youthful body and a clear mind.
Pilates has opened new possibilities for me. Over the past 10 years, I have competed in two marathons and numerous short and long-distance triathlons, including three Ironman competitions.
My Pilates practice is deeply rooted in a solid understanding of the principles and fundamental concepts of the Classical Pilates method, which I am excited to present to you in this workshop.
"Study carefully. Do not sacrifice knowledge to speed in building your solid exercises regime on the foundation of Contrology."
